Out of Sight - Out of Mind: Protect our children from tobacco marketing from Cancer Society of New Zealand on Vimeo.

Cancer will affect one in every three New Zealanders at some stage during their lives.

The Cancer Society Auckland is here to provide support to cancer patients and their families,  to prevent the onset of cancer, and to carry out scientific research into cancer.

We rely solely on the generosity of the public of Auckland and Northland for financial and volunteer support in order to provide these services.  We do not accept direct Government funding as we do not wish to be compromised in any advocacy or lobbying we undertake.

We have been serving the communities of Auckland and Northland for 75 years and intend to go on meeting the needs of cancer patients and their families.

SPF30+ Trigger Spray Sunscreen (batch No. B34072B exp Jul 2010)

Daffodil Enterprises and Brand Support Ltd were voluntarily recalling batch B34072B Exp July 2010 of the SPF30+ Trigger Spray sunscreen. The recall was being carried out in accordance with the Consumer Affairs Product Recall Guidelines.

The reason for the recall was that Consumer New Zealand published results from tests they had done on the SPF of this batch of sunscreen. They differed markedly with our own test results and because of the conflict we have decided the most responsible thing to do, in the interim, was to recall the product.

This issue was now before the statutory authorities – the Commerce Commission in New Zealand and the Therapeutic Goods Administration in Australia, to investigate. These organisations have their own methods of testing and investigation, so the Cancer Society can’t comment any further as it was inappropriate for us to comment or speculate.

You are advised to return your product to the retail store you purchased it from to receive a full refund.

You can also click  here and print out a copy of the return form and post this, with the product to

Brand Support, Head Office
43 Honan Place

Avondale
Auckland

New Zealand

You will be sent a refund for the product and the postage.

Please note that it was only batch B34072B Ex July 2010 of the SPF30+ Trigger Spray sunscreen and no other products of the Cancer Society’s range were being recalled.

Please be assured the Cancer Society is doing all it can to make this recall as easy as possible for everyone.
