Sunscreen

Suncreen should not be used as a means of staying out in the sun longer, but as a way to reduce the risk of sun damage to the skin when exposure to the summer sun is unavoidable.
The Cancer Society markets its own brand of sunscreen
Individual and bulk products can be purchased through the Cancer Society Auckland by contacting Mike on 09 308 0160 ext 509.

SPF30+ Trigger Spray Sunscreen (batch No. B34072B exp Jul 2010)

The Cancer Society has suspended the sale of SPF30+ Trigger Spray sunscreen and it is also voluntarily recalling batch B34072B Exp July 2010.  The recall is being carried out in accordance with the Consumer Affairs Product Recall Guidelines.

The reason for the recall is Consumer New Zealand published results from tests they had done on the SPF of this batch of sunscreen.  They differed markedly with our own test results and because of the conflict we have decided the most responsible thing to do, in the interim, is to recall the product.  Intensive investigation is being undertaken into the testing regime used and the discrepancies.

Please note "no other sunscreen is affected at this stage" and as such all other sunscreen products are available for sale.

Many thanks for your patience and understanding.
