Therapy Groups

Therapy groups aim to give participants the opportunity to explore and process their experience of cancer in a safe, professional environment – to make sense of what has taken place and to consider options.  There is real value and support to be gained in exploring experiences with others who have been diagnosed with cancer, and who truly understand the challenges and difficulties faced.

  •  Moving Forward
This is a five week therapy group that aims to give people who have finished treatment and are in remission the opportunity to explore their experience and to address survivorship issues.  The aim of the group is to promote recovery after treatment and to explore how to 'move forward' with life.
  • 2 Young to Have Cancer (2YHC) 18 - 38 years old.      This group provides the opportunity to explore experiences and to learn coping strategies with those at a similar stage of life.

Therapy groups are small (maximum of 8 people) and run for a set period of time.  Places are limited and you will need to register your interest to attend by calling Support Services on telephone (09) 308 0168.
