Aromatherapy and Lymphoedema Therapy

If you are receiving treatment for cancer,  a gentle massage using essential oils is available to assist with physical or emotional well being.

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy is the gentle massage of feet, hands or body using Essential Oils (100% natural plant extracts). This soothing therapy is a quiet time to enhance physical and emotional wellbeing and may also assist with the management of the side-effects of treatment.  We offer several one hour appointments to people currently receiving treatment for cancer.

Lymphoedema Therapy

Lymphoedema therapy is massage or compression bandaging to manage a build up of lymphatic fluid in the tissues causing swelling. This fluid build up, called lymphoedema, can result from injury to lymphatic valves or vessels from cancer or from cancer treatments. A lymphoedema assessment is offered to people with cancer and treatment may then follow at the discretion of the therapist.  You may ask your doctor or nurse to refer you for lymphoedema assessment, however medical approval is required for treatment.

Lymphoedema Information

Free, one hour information sessions on lymphoedema are held mornings or evenings on a monthly basis.  The sessions include :
  • How the lymphatic system works
  • What is lymphoedema ?  Am I at risk ?
  • What can be done to prevent or minimise lymphoedema ?
Booking is not necessary and you are welcome to bring a support person.
